Specifications sub-tab: Asset
The Specifications page is displayed by default when first accessing the Related Info tab and lists all specifications defined for the asset. This page can include quantifiable specifications that must be measured and assessed and qualitative specifications such as color or type. Options to add, remove, or modify specifications are available. In addition, an option to View Spec History is shown on Asset Specifications for which history is available.
Specifications must be properly associated with an asset to have readings and history tracked from tasks listed on a procedure. Once a specification is associated with an asset, it is easy to locate the specification from the Task lookup, using the option to filter for Specifications for Asset/Location.
The following fields are displayed in the Specifications list:
-
Name: Name of specification as defined in the Specifications module.
-
Text/Date/Numeric Value: The current value for the specification. Maintenance Connection updates the value stored in the asset specification when a specification reading is recorded on the Work Order Tasks page. The current value can be listed in the Text, Numeric, or Date field, dependent on the type of specification. The value can also be updated directly on this page.
-
Minimum/Maximum/Optimum Values: For numeric specifications, the minimum, maximum, and optimum settings, where appropriate. When users enter readings outside the minimum / maximum settings, here or in the Work Order module > Tasks page. The specification is listed in bright red.
-
WO on Failure: Indicates whether or not a work order should be automatically generated when a specification reading is entered which is outside the minimum / maximum settings.
-
Track Changes: Indicates whether or not changes made to specifications should be tracked for Asset Reporting, available in the Asset Specification History by Location report.
